PTA Meeting after school Thursday 18th Feb 2010

Robyn thanked Kaye, Helena and Rebecca for the great effort resulting in a successful Fun Run on Sunday February 14th.

Love Leigh Fun Run.
$649 taken, out-standing bill for Gilmores of $163.41 and ?
There are sausages and other food left over- to roll over to the next time
Easy to remember- more people will know for next year
More advertising suggested. Coffee News is a good one and free
2,5 km was a good length
Safety-  Suggest a Tail-end for the 5 km and 10 km, too difficult to do both
Need to know who has continued on the 10 km and pass on to marshals.
Need to ensure we have a record showing that everyone who went out comes back-ie signing in
First-aid kits needed to be stationed and carried by tail-end
Suggest certificate awarded to each participant as both good-will and good advertising and promotion
People can fill out their own names and times on arrival back.
Suggested certificates are sent out to those who participated this year.
 
Fay pointed out that you can't put out signs prior to 3 weeks before an event, unless on own property

Artists on the day. We supply art materials and canvas and the artists produce their work on the day and it is auctioned on the day. Approach 6 or so  local artists to see if they are interested-good profiling for them and commission?
Need more venues for food and drink
Suggestion to split the coffee away from the food to avoid bottle neck

Helena to follow up on 2 more from whanau for Spit
 
Newsletter beginning to ask for things: eg books, cd's seedling trays, prepare for cakes or bakers?
