PTA Meeting Notes
(These are not
the official minutes, just notes taken at the
meeting)
Attendance: Linda Nelson,
Wilfred Mueller, Selena Grant, Rochelle Hume, Naeri
Nicholls, Jenine Abarbanel, Linda Falconer, Gillian Irons.
Apologies: Colleen Julian.
Assembly on Monday morning because ERO is coming to visit.
Looking for people to relieve Linda Falconer and Linda
Nelson. Both wish to resign from PTA board. Linda Nelson
does not wish to organize Turf n Surf next year, and Linda
Falconer does not wish to do wine auction either.
Linda Falconer says we are having a disco at the
sawmill. Someone needs to work with Susan and Ed there to
put that together during winter sometime, midweek. Naeri
and Colleen have said they’ll look into it.
Sales of the DVD. Our license only allows us to sell the
DVD for the cost of materials, not cost of production. We
could purchase the music for that purpose, but that would
run towards $600. Linda Falconer wants to sell it through
Learning Media who would market it to other schools around
New Zealand. Her key goal is to recoup the cost of making
the video. This was not clearly stated during the
production of the video, and as a result there is
copyrighted material included. The video could be remade
with new music.
Carnival organizer: Linda Falconer wants to appoint an
organizer sooner rather than later and is looking for
people to put their hand up now. If nobody puts hand up
now, she wants to look for outside paid organiser. Gillian
suggests we wait until the AGM and see who is looking to go
forward with the PTA. Jenine and Rochelle offer to draft
organiser guideline document.
PTA accounts are with Fiona Longuet-Higgens, they may
not be done by the AGM. Linda Falconer did not disclose how
much Fiona is being paid for this work, nor who is to pay.
Rochelle offers to draft constitution for the PTA to
replace guidelines that were used previously. Will present
at AGM for review and ratification.
AGM set for June 20, 3:00, straight after school.
Newsletter from PTA on AGM to go out next Thursday, with
nomination form.
Meeting closed at 4:15 pm.
