Charities Commission registration
03/12/08 10:55 AM
Thanks to James Ross for completing our official
Rules (with help from Rochelle Hume) and preparing
our registration with the Charities Commission. This
is all complete now, so we’re almost legal and
official and all. Next is to register as an
Incorporated Society, and then we’ll be all set and
settled.
You can find our rules here on the website under “Miscellaneous Documents.” or contact us for a paper copy.

Hockey Tournament at Whangateau
10/09/08 03:31 PM
The rain delayed interschool hockey tournament was
ALMOST held at Whangateau Domain today. The day began
beautiful and sunny and in a fit of optimism everyone
hung out their laundry to dry in the sun. This of
course guaranteed that it would be raining by 10:30.
Five schools attended the day, Leigh, Ahuroa, Kaipara Flats, Warkworth and Matakana. They were able to play one and a half games before it was all called off due to torrential rain.
Jenine, Nat, Jane and James set up and ran the sausage and burger sizzle tent. At first it looked like sales were going to be slow, but the rain changed that. We had two shelter tents up, and before long they were packed with kids and adults. Talk about a captive audience! We are grateful to Lisa and Jenta for the donation of the burger patties and buns. Thanks to them we made $115 on the sizzle. This money is going to be used to fill up the two school gas bottles and reimburse James for the use of his.
We had a large number of sausages and burgers defrosted that were not used. There will be sausage/burger sizzle at the school on Friday, October 12 during lunch for the school kids. So send money to school with your kid, and come in at lunch if you can help with the set-up!
